 Winter Workouts Minimize

The Winter Workout/Tryout
is designed to both improve the individual player’s skills, and prepare them for their upcoming travel baseball or high school season. Our instructors have all participated and/or coached at the highest levels of baseball, and will pass their knowledge on to our enthusiastic and talented student-athletes. This year's clinic will be offered at Stewart Gym in New Windsor, which provides hitting tunnels, ample space for defensive work and conditioning, multiple offensive stations, and for pitchers - indoor work with portable mounds. Speed improvement will be featured this year as well.

We will focus on all aspects of the game – offensive skills, defensive skills, conditioning and flexibility, mental aspects and approaches as well as a separate pitching component. We will also offer suggestions on how to successfully deal with the collegiate recruiting process.

All potential Cyclone members will have the opportunity to showcase their desire to play the game at the highest level, and their overall work ethic over a 8 week span. This ensures a fair and objective “try out”.

The workout/tryout is available to the the public and for all athletes ages 8 and up

Winter workouts are NOT included in the player’s price or fees. All players whether they are returning or trying out will be required to pay $20.00 at the door for each workout.

Note: Cyclones from time to time will have Special Guests and Instructors at their workouts. Ex: Former Professional and Minor League Baseball Players, Local College and High School Coaches and others that are professionals in their fields of expertise so it can be passed on our student athletes

Winter workouts are conducted Saturdays and Sundays, December through March (10 weeks). Tryouts for all teams will also be conducted during this period. Workouts are approximately 1 hour to 2hrs depending on age group.

Winter workouts are mandatory for all players to participate in order to gain a roster spot on a particular Cyclone team. It prepares our teams for the spring season and enables us to have our teams and rosters selected by the 2nd week of January.

Most organizations do not have the luxury of having an indoor facility with instructors for their teams to practice and prepare. Those that do are paying $40 to $60 per hour for their child to pay the rental fees either at a dome or at other baseball facilities.
